Kate Losey

Kate is pursuing a M.S. degree in Human Dimensions and Environmental Policy at UMass-Amherst. She has experience with invasive species removal, volunteer coordination and natural resource education. These experiences have lead to her interest in studying private landowners and their interactions and influences on the forested landscape. She is currently building on the work of Tyler Van Fleet and utilizing a new survey tool to asses private landowner conservation awareness and comparing how awareness relates to a private landowner education program, The Keystone Program in Massachusetts. This application of the survey seeks to give insight to how conservation knowledge flows from education programs to landowners. In addition, Kate is continuing to promote the MassACORN.net website and assist with the Neighborhood Conservation Network.
