Lisa Romano

Lisa Romano is a graduate student in Natural Resources Conservation, with a focus on forest resources. Her interest in community-level conservation and nonprofit management experience have led her to become involved with woodland owner outreach in western Massachusetts. Lisa previously earned an MA in English and American Studies from the University of Virginia and is now working to promote MassACORN.net to landowners in the Deerfield and Westfield River watersheds in Massachusetts.

Tyler Van Fleet

Tyler is pursuing a M.S. degree in Forest Resources at UMass-Amherst.  She has a background in field ecology and environmental organizing and education. Her current research centers on the human dimensions of private land conservation in Massachusetts. She is developing and pilot testing a new survey tool with which to assess private landowner conservation awareness.  Survey results will provide much needed data on what landowners know about the conservation options and resources available to them. Ultimately, survey data will improve the conservation community's ability to facilitate informed decision-making amongst private landowners.
